Eliminate these 11 way-too-common excuses to enhance relationships and attract more success into your life.
These days most people live a life full of boring routines because they’re too busy watching, wishing, and waiting for things to get better. You need to be action-oriented and solution-focused to gain access to influential people and their success-boosting opportunities.
Whether you’re a manager, training professional, entrepreneur, or direct marketing professional, the formula for success starts with eliminating limiting thoughts and excuses.
To amp up your success, rid yourself of these 11 excuses successful people absolutely never make:
1. It’s Hard
Jim Rohn had a great response to this excuse. He said, “Successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do. Don’t wish it were easier, wish you were better.”
2. I’m Tired
If a person says they’re tired, 90% of the time it is due to a lack of proper prioritization of things in their life. If everything is a priority, nothing is a priority.
3. I’m Broke
People with scarcity thinking are quick to frame up their financial situation using this phrase. Successful people are abundant thinkers because they know what they think is how they feel. And they feel abundantly blessed.
4. I Did My Best
People typically make this excuse when their “best” simply wasn’t all that good. Successful people never settle because they always give their best, and they’re always working to get better.
5. I’m Not That Good
How many times have we seen the best, the most talented, or the most gifted lose. You don’t have to be the best. You just have to be better.
6. It Doesn’t Matter Anyway
Every decision, every action or lack thereof matters. Saying it doesn’t matter is the verbal acceptance of defeat or mediocrity.
7. The Problem Is
Stop seeing problems as something negative. When we see problems as being the triggers for success, we realize we are very often presented tremendous opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.
8. Everybody / Nobody…
Using all-inclusive statements that begin with “everybody” or “nobody” are the simplest forms of blame and deflection. Successful people never make this excuse because it would mean they’re at the back of the pack instead of leading the pack.
9. I Can’t
Let me keep it real. “I can’t” is code for “I won’t”.
10. I Don’t Have Time
This is a lame excuse. Have you ever met a successful person who wasn’t busy creating?
11. I’m Not Ready
Successful people know there is no such thing as a perfect time. They act decisively despite imperfect conditions and situations.
It’s human nature to make excuses for not meeting an expectation. The difference between successful people and everybody else is successful people never make these 11 excuses. By taking responsibility and taking action, you’ll vastly improve your relationships at home and at work and attract much more success into your life.
