Success is never built in a day. It is achieved by the things you do or don’t do every day. Here’s a 7 day plan for doing the right things the right way in order to bring success your way.
There are no shortcuts to success. Success is the result of your daily activity rooted in disciplined preparation because preparation is the difference between winning and losing.
If you want to reach your maximum potential, you have to consistently work your success muscles, and that requires a weekly workout plan.
For the first time ever, I’m revealing the flawless 7 day plan I use to achieve breakthrough levels of success month after month, and year after year. Follow these same daily activities, and like a body builder, your confidence will grow, and you’ll inevitably crush any goals you set.
Let’s get started:
Monday: Get Your Prescription for Success
Time Commitment: <1 minute
To achieve extraordinary results requires you to do uncommon things. Begin your week with a concentrated, power-packed success nugget you can digest in 15 seconds or less. Watch a video from my Prescriptions for Success in 15 Seconds series in which I share tips, strategies, and inspirational quotes to ignite your success early in the week. I post a new one each week on my Instagram account and on our Infinity Consulting and Training Solutions Facebook page, so visit them regularly to be inspired faster than it takes you to recite your ABCs. (You’re saying them now to prove my guarantee, aren’t you? lol!)
Tuesday: Boost Your Core Knowledge and Skills
Time Commitment: 10 minutes
People who are doing the same things they were doing 2 years ago are not growing. They’re becoming comfortably irrelevant. You and I are different. We’re not average. We’re exceptional, and exceptional people remain that way by persistently powering up our knowledge and skills.
Do that by reading topics that enable you to expand your expertise. This is how I remain a highly successful speaker, consultant, and trainer in the world of management consulting. Here are some suggestions for boosting your knowledge and skills:
- Read my Blog (www.Think2SuccessNow.com): It contains over 100 articles to help you master the simple and profound fundamentals for achieving real lasting success.
- Industry publications. Read an article from one of your industry’s leading publications to stay abreast of current and emerging trends.
Wednesday: Laugh and Smile
Time Commitment: 4 minutes
Laughter makes everything better and mid-week is the perfect time to habitually infuse some smile time into your success building routine. Find a source of laughter and be happier than a camel on hump day. Here are some of my favorite ways to get a good laugh on a weekly basis:
- Read a few pages from a Dilbert book
- Watch a segment from The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon
- Watch a video from America’s Funniest Home videos
Thursday: Do Some Success Muscle Powerlifting
Time Commitment: 15 minutes
Coming off the amazing restorative power of laughter, it’s time to do one more set of a power workout before you go on cruise control during the weekend. Supercharge your success-abilities by learning from global thought leaders and experts on success. Reading Darren Hardy’s Success Magazine will “expand your knowledge and enable you to perpetually develop new skills to stay relevant and sustain your lifestyle.” As the magazine proudly and accurately boasts – it is What Achievers Read.
Friday: Track Your Progress
Time Commitment: 5 minutes
You won’t appreciate progress if you don’t know where you are, and you won’t realize your amount of improvement if you don’t know how far you’ve come. Get yourself a success journal or download an app into your favorite digital device and document your progress for the week. Keep it simple. Your entry should include:
Actual or anticipated benefit(s)
At the end of every month, review your entries and celebrate your growth. Small wins lead to big victories, and those small wins are built on your daily disciplines.
Saturday: Give the Gift of Thanks
Time Commitment: 5 minutes
You’re a product of who you surround yourself with, and your level of success is directly influenced by those closest to you. Your success is also based on helping others become successful. Each week, select someone to give thanks to. By letting others know you appreciate their contributions to your success, you actually attract more success into your life. So whether you do it formally or informally, thank at least one person each week. I often use the comments section on Facebook to thank people, and it never fails to generate a great deal of heart-felt good feelings for all involved.
Sunday: Get Motivated. Get Inspired
Time Commitment: 20 minutes
Sunday is a time for rejoicing and preparing to seize the opportunities that await you. This is the perfect time to get motivated and be inspired by watching a Joel Osteen messages video or a dynamic speaker from the TedTalk series. I actually do both because I can listen to Joel Osteen on channel 128 on XM Radio in my car. Whatever you do, set aside a few minutes on Sunday to recharge your motivation and refresh your success muscles.
As Darren Hardy says in The Compound Effect, “Whatever I want in life, I’ve found that the best way to get it is to focus my energy on giving it to others.” I agree, and that is why I am giving my 7 day success workout regimen to you. If you want to grow your own success, adopt the plan or some variation of it that works for you. And share the 7 day workout with your friends, family members, and colleagues. You will be rewarded 10-fold for sharing it.
